Employee Communications: Using Cartoon Characters

One approach I took was to use an avatar (or cartoon character) as a champion or change agent along the journey. In this case, the avatar represented the target audience undergoing the change. We gave him a name, his own email address and phone extension with an outgoing voicemail message. The email address and phone extension were outlets to send emails and voicemails and capture feedback and questions.

Up-selling sucks. Few people enjoy being the recipient of up-selling, but they often don’t mind engaging in such a practice themselves. It’s one of the worst forms of public relations. Be happy a customer is a customer and don’t see it as an opportunity to suck from them more of their hard-earned money. If they appreciate your service, they will inquire about additional possibilities without you putting the screws to them.
